California bar exam results for July 2025 have been released.

Repeat takers accounted for 26% of all candidates who sat for the bar exam.

The overall pass rate was 54.5%,

The first time taker pass rate was 69.7%.

The repeat-takers pass rate was 12.4%.

 California ABA Schools – First-Time Takers 84.4%; Repeat Takers 22.8%

 Out-of-State ABA Schools – First-Time Takers 78.1%; Repeat Takers 17.6%

 California Accredited (not ABA) – First-Time Takers 35.2%; Repeat Takers 7.3%

 Unaccredited – First-Time Takers 37.5%, Repeat Takers 3.3%

 All Applicants – First-Time Takers 69.7%, Repeat Takers 12.4%
